Home for us is Sunderland in the north east. From here, we support our operations throughout the country. This facility is also where we design, maintain and build state of the art Velocity Patching machines for export around the world.

Your region will include Wales, the west and south west of England. There, you’ll have a ready made customer-base that we need you to look after and hit the ground running.
From there on, we’re looking for someone with the drive and ambition to grow our business in the region whilst making sure we maintain our good relationships with existing customers. Of course, you won’t be on your own - we’ve a strong team here at Velocity that work together.
The ideal fit for us is an ambitious team-player with contracting experience in the highways industry.
With an approachable, professional manner, you’ll have a good understanding of the needs and drivers of local authorities and term-maintenance contractors, and the ability to translate those requirements into mutually beneficial partnerships.

Job Description
Primary Objectives
- To plan and implement sales and marketing activities in order to meet company targets for retention, growth, sustainability and profitability.
- To effectively manage contracts, working closely with RRS Operations, Admin, finance and workshop to ensure contracts are delivered profitability and meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Velocity Road Repair Services deliver a service that is “Right first time, on time, within budget, and to the required quality”.
- Plan and implement marketing strategy, including a revamp of sales and marketing materials, advertising; PR; sales; customer retention and development to produce sustainable growth; increase market share and corporate image.
- Apply judgment and experience to assist with increasing profitability.
- Plan and manage sales and marketing resources according to agreed budgets.
- Maintain relevant reporting and planning documents and systems.
- Maintain and develop corporate image and reputation, and protect and develop the company’s brands via suitable PR activities and I.P. management.
- Plan and manage internal communications; direction, aims and activities.
- Ensure personal and company targets are achieved; provide guidance reports to senior management.
- Ensure all policies, procedures, data capture/recording methods are accurately maintained within the Sharepoint system, within appropriate time scales and budgets.
- Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact toward achieving agreed business aims, including costs, sales, targets, and also managing own time and productivity.
- Plan and manage own business portfolio according to agreed development strategy.
- Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims.
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers whilst ensuring quality of service, business growth and customer satisfaction are achieved.
- Record and update the company’s systems with relevant and required information.
- Plan/carry out/support marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organized activities, eg product launch, promotions, exhibitions etc.
- Respond to and follow up sales enquiries within agreed timescales.
- Analyse tender material/heads of terms/contracts and development of bid/negotiation strategy.
- Monitor and report on personal, market, and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information, including case studies.
- Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
- Attend and present at external customer meetings, and internal meetings as necessary, to aid business development.
- Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
